Alabama Baptist college students share about their church experiences, Sue Kangcomment (0)

August 9, 2012

Sue Kang
Auburn University
First Baptist Church, Opelika
Hometown: Huntsville

Q: How did you find out about your church?

A: I had a bunch of friends a year above me who went to Auburn, and that’s where they plugged in and loved it.

Q: What made you decide to commit to the church?

A: What drew me there was that everyone took time to say “Hey” to me, and random people would come up and talk to me and were really intentional. Community is so important there. … And I love Trace’s (Hamiter, college minister for First Baptist Church, Opelika) preaching; (it’s) so based on Scripture and filled with truth.

Q: What difference did being plugged into your church make during your freshman year?

A: It’s made me make my faith my own, realizing what I believe and why. … It’s helped me see where my roots are, and God’s taught me so much through the discipleship and the fellowship He let me experience.
