Annette began working at The Alabama Baptist on Sept. 16, 2019. Prior to joining The Alabama Baptist, she had more than 25 years of human resources experience with two local insurance companies in the Birmingham area. Dianna joined The Alabama Baptist team in March 2021 as the production manager. She is originally from the Birmingham area and earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and history from the University of Alabama. She has a master’s of divinity degree in biblical counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. She has been a page designer/copy editor for several newspapers: The Union-Recorder (Milledgeville, Ga.); The Decatur DAILY (Decatur, Ala.) and the Birmingham Post-Herald, where she was wire editor and assistant copy desk manager. She has worked in every department at some point: features, sports, editorial and news. She served as a US/C-2 missionary with the North American Mission Board in church and community ministries. Dianna reopened The Christian Ministry Center, helping with food, clothing and financial assistance to 11 zip codes in and around Batesburg-Leesville, S.C. She helped the Lexington Baptist Association with events, public relations and general office work. She spoke in churches and associations about mission work and served as one of the camp missionaries to Camp La Vida, a ministry of South Carolina Woman’s Missionary Union. Prior to starting at TAB Media Group, she was assistant editor for the Biblical Recorder, North Carolina’s Baptist news journal for more than 14 years.
Debbie began working at The Alabama Baptist on Jan. 3, 1998. She served as a proofreader with the editorial department and local edition coordinator before assuming the role of director of circulation and public relations on April 1, 2005. She became director of communications in January 2019. Her earlier employment includes management positions with Neiman Marcus and Dallas Fire & Life Insurance Co. A native Texan, Debbie graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in the fields of speech and journalism. Margaret Colson is an award-winning communications professional. Her passion is to tell the stories of how God is at work in the world. She earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master of divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). In December 2020, she completed a doctor of ministry at NOBTS, with a focus on crisis communications. Margaret officially began her role with The Alabama Baptist in January 2020, although she has been a contributing writer for The Alabama Baptist for several years. Throughout her career, Margaret has written for the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, LifeWay Christian Resources, and numerous state Baptist newspapers. In addition to her work with The Alabama Baptist, Margaret serves as executive director of two denominational communications organizations: Baptist Communicators Association and Association of State Baptist Publications. Maggie rejoined The Alabama Baptist in August 2020. She began with TAB as a summer intern in May 2012 and first joined the staff in June 2014 as an office assistant before becoming a permanent editorial employee later that year. Between stints with TAB, Maggie served as a financial coordinator for Gooch Family Dental, acting as a patient advocate with insurance companies. She graduated magna cum laude from Troy University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in communication studies. Deb has been employed with The Alabama Baptist since 2009. She spent more than 20 years as a stay-at-home mom, wife and home educator to two of her children and one of her grandchildren. Carrie has worked with The Alabama Baptist since 1995, when she joined the editorial staff as a part-time news writer. From 1996 to 2018 she contributed many articles and worked on special assignments as a freelance writer and editor. On Jan. 1, 2019, she was appointed full-time content editor. Jennifer Davis Rash serves as president and editor-in-chief of The Alabama Baptist. A native of Phil Campbell, Rash earned her associate’s degree from Northwest Community College, her bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Alabama and her master of theological studies from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham. Rash came to TAB in January 1996 as a news writer and worked her way up to managing editor then executive editor before being named editor-elect in 2015 and then the first female editor of a major Baptist newspaper beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Throughout the years she has helped lead the editorial team to win more than 250 national awards. While on staff at TAB, Rash has served in a variety of national and local leadership roles. She served as president of Baptist Communicators Association and vice president of Associated Church Press, two national organizations for professional Christian communicators, and in various positions with Religion Communicators Council, Evangelical Press Association and Alabama Press Association.
