Jonesboro Baptist Church, Russellville, celebrated its 100th anniversary Sept. 13.
“We were happy to have 70 sign the guestbook,” said Alice Hester, a member of the anniversary committee. “It was a great celebration.”
Former Pastor Michael Stancil and church members shared memories and testimonies during the special service.
Pastor Kent Walker preached, and Ricky Mansell shared special music. Lonette Berg, executive director of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, and Larry Dover, director of missions for Franklin Baptist Association, presented certificates. A light lunch was
held afterward in the fellowship hall, and those present enjoyed a special commemorative booklet and a display case featuring photos of the church throughout its history. (Franklin)
