Does your church have a true disciple-making culture?
Bill Wilks says that is his burden — to help every church equip its members to be disciple makers.
That’s why Wilks, pastor of NorthPark Baptist Church, Trussville, has been investing his time in leading D-Life Boot Camps across the Southeast over the past several years.
D-Life isn’t a program; it’s a lifestyle, he said. Any follower of Christ can use it anywhere to begin discipling friends, coworkers, neighbors or family members through studying the Bible together as a small group.
“Our goal is that you walk out of a D-Life Boot Camp believing that you can make disciples and that you are trained to live a lifestyle of making and multiplying disciples for the rest of your life,” Wilks said. “D-Life is a simple, biblical, missional and reproducible process of disciple-making. It’s a proven plan for making disciples who make disciples.”
Most churches who begin using D-Life keep on using it and see an impact in their churches over the years, he said.
Two D-Life boot camps are planned for January in different parts of the state and are open to anyone who would like to register and attend.
*South Alabama D-Life Boot Camp
First Baptist Church, Fairhope
Jan. 16, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
*Central Alabama D-Life Boot Camp
NorthPark Baptist Church, Trussville
Jan. 23, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Anyone can attend a D-Life Boot Camp. And this year, leaders are taking precautions due to the pandemic.
Wilks said social distancing and other recommended protocols will be observed during the boot camps.
Tables will be spaced apart and lunch will be served boxed-meal style. Tables and meeting rooms will be well-sanitized in preparation for group meetings, he said.
D-Life leaders also request that participants bring and wear face masks.
