Southern Baptists have converged on Nashville for the 2021 Annual Meeting and all the related events and meetings, and here’s what happened this weekend.

Crossover

Volunteers from all over Tennessee and beyond gathered for Crossover 2021, a citywide evangelistic effort featuring block parties, acts of kindness, service projects and more.

Block parties at Shelby Avenue Baptist and New Day Church in Nashville, outreach events at Grace Baptist, Nashville, and Lascassas Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, as well as the evangelists block party in East Park, drew hundreds for fun, encouragement and a gospel message.

WMU elects new president

National WMU elected Connie Dixon of New Mexico as its new president during the WMU Missions Celebration and Annual Meeting held at First Baptist, Nashville.

SEND Conference begins

And last but not least, the SEND Conference began Sunday afternoon with over 1,200 people praying for spiritual awakening. Michael W. Smith led the crowd in worship as the Sunday evening session began, joined onstage by surprise guest CeCe Winans for a couple of songs. Tony Evans ended the service with a challenge to Southern Baptists to unify around the gospel, and a concert by Crowder closed out the evening.

That’s a wrap on opening weekend. The SEND Conference continues today (June 14) with more worship, more speakers and more encouragement to be “Together on Mission.”
