A former Clarke County Baptist Association director of missions lost his wife to an illness May 27.
Cheryl Harrison Wright, 76, died in Birmingham.
She was married to Jack R Wright Jr., for more than 12 years. Wright was in ministry for 68 years, including serving as director of missions for Clarke Baptist Association, director of Camp Morvin and pastor of Asbury Baptist Church, Grove Hill. He also served as pastor of Gosport Baptist Church, Whatley.
Cheryl Wright was raised in Marengo County and was a cosmetologist in the Chilton Community for many years. She also worked in a local drug store and created floral arrangements in the flower shop.
She is survived by her husband Jack Wright; her two children, Keith Harrison and Darla Harrison Benefield; four step-children; three grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 41 years, Eddie Harrison, and daughter, Rita Harrison Williams.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 31 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11. Graveside services will follow at Smith Cemetery in the Chilton community.
