“Community” was the theme of the 10th Annual K-LOVE Fan Awards, recorded at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The show aired June 2.
The K-LOVE Fan Awards is the only Christian entertainment awards show where the fans vote for those who “with excellence, engage and impact popular culture for Christ.” It showcases not only artists who work in the music industry, but also those behind some of the books, films/TV shows, sports and podcasts who fans believe have made an impact.
This year’s awards show featured milestones of several artists who have been part of Christian music for years, including Steven Curtis Chapman, who performed his 50th No. 1 song, “Don’t Lose Heart,” in a special ensemble performance to start the evening, and MercyMe, who is celebrating 30 years together this summer.
Performances included collaborations by Colton Dixon with Gabby Barrett, Tasha Layton and Jon Reddick, Katy Nichole with Big Daddy Weave, and Andrew Ripp with Rachael Lampa.
Even the hosts collaborated — and coordinated. Zany and quirky Cain, who just finished their first headlining “Live and In Color” tour, were the hosts. Known for the coordinating colors of their concert costumes, fans speculated which color the group would wear for the awards, and they didn’t disappoint, changing clothes and coordinating colors several times throughout the evening.
Presenters for the evening included many of the music-related nominees as well as FOX News Sunday host Shannon Bream, cast members from The Chosen, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Lisa Harper.
Fans’ choices
The nominees were announced in mid-May after having early nomination voting the last week of March. Phil Wickham had received the most nominations with five total. Brandon Lake had four and Cain, Rachael Lampa and TobyMac each had three. Voting ran May 15 to 26.

- Group of the Year: MercyMe
- Song of the Year: Brandon Lake “Gratitude”
- Worship Song of the Year: Brandon Lake “Gratitude”
- Breakout Single: Rachael Lampa “Perfectly Loved” (featuring Toby Mac)
- Film and TV Impact: The Chosen, Season 3 Finale
- Sports Impact: Charlotte Scott, Elon University women’s head basketball coach
- Podcast Impact: Phil and Jase Robertson’s “Unashamed”
- Book Impact: “On Our Knees” Phil Wickham
