New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Arab, celebrated its 150th anniversary Sept. 3. The display of historical photos, documents and a quilt from the 1950s was organized by Judy Miller. A special presentation was made by Joe Teal, commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, to Jerry Burgett, pastor. Many members wore old-fashioned clothes for the occasion. Dinner on the grounds and a special afternoon program concluded the celebration.
