Kirk Smith is the new pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Lawley.
He was previously pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Centreville; Shady Grove Baptist Church, Randolph; Hillcrest Baptist Church, Maplesville; interim pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church, Jemison; and pastor of Rehobeth Baptist Church, Lawley.
Smith also serves as the emergency management director for Bibb County. He and Christy have two sons, one of whom also is a pastor in Perry County along with Smith’s father, Gervis.
DJ Sims is the new student minister of Memphis Baptist Church, Dothan.
Mika Marcum is the new pastor of Calcedonia Baptist Church, Gardendale, where he has been serving as interim pastor.
Austin Faulkner is the new youth pastor of Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle.
Waterstone Church, Warrior, will celebrate its 150th anniversary Oct. 18, with one worship service at 10 a.m. and lunch to follow.
