Ken Alford is the new interim pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church, Gadsden. He has served as interim pastor at three Alabama Baptist churches — Pleasant Ridge Baptist, Hueytown; First Baptist Church Ashville; and Crossroads Community, Elmore — since 2020 when he retired from full-time ministry.
Alford began pastoral ministry in 1981 and served churches in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia during his nearly 40 years of full-time service. He also served as a member of the SBC Executive Committee, president of the Florida Baptist Convention, chair of the board of trustees for the North American Mission Board and president of the state Baptist pastors conferences in Florida and Mississippi.
Alford holds a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University and master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Southwestern Seminary. He and his wife, Cynthia, have two children and four grandchildren.
