Herbby Geer is the new lead missions strategist of Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association.
He has lived in Israel for 38 years, and the past 28 years he worked as a representative of the Southern Baptist Convention, serving as the director of Baptist Ministries in Israel. He founded The Tabernacle Project in Israel in 1999 in partnership with Timna Park and the Bible-Center in Germany.
Geer also oversaw the work at the Baptist Village in Israel. In addition, he helped plant three different congregations and has served as pastor for them at different levels as needed. He has spoken in conferences and churches in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and has served on the board of several ministries and educational institutions in Israel.
Originally from Gordo, he holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree from Southeastern Seminary. He and his wife, Anne, have three children.
