The Samford University undergrad shared with energy and excitement how the Lord was working in her life. She outlined several ways He had showed up right on time in recent years — and how many of those appearances came when she was about to give up on Him.
As she reflected, she realized other moments from the past that had not made sense to her at the time but ended up being crucial to her current path. They all contributed to her development and the opportunities before her.
It’s those God glimpses that will continue to fill our soul and motivate us years later if we are able to pull them back to the surface from memory.

One regret I have is not writing down the full extent of how I’ve watched the Lord work in my life through the years and how I’ve witnessed Him working in the lives of those close to me as well.
He’s gracious to remind me of many of the experiences from time to time, but I would love to be able to pull a journal off the shelf and read back through specifics as written while they were fresh.
I mentioned to the Samford student the idea of writing down what she was sharing with me and how I wished I had done that from the moment I fully committed my life to Him (back when I was a young college student).
She seemed receptive to the suggestion, noting she had never thought about what it would be like for her later in life to be able to read back through what seems so real and vibrant to her right now.
As we talked, I thought about our full network of Baptists across the state and how many incredible God stories that must exist from all of you.
We have the perfect platform for those stories to be shared, so I wanted to reach out and see if you might consider working on that idea for me.

Does it motivate you to know others are watching?
We’ve all likely experienced it in some way — young children mimicking adults they admire, whether it be family, friends or famous personalities from afar.
But beyond the childhood awe, have you thought through the full extent of how our actions influence others, no matter their age or concept of us?
We are influenced in some way by the people who are consistently in our lives.
We also have certain ways we do daily life routines.
We have go-to phrases and comments that we make.
In some cases, we might have a specific motion or action we do when we are concentrating.
Think about the time you responded to a situation and heard one of your parents instead of yourself. Or maybe you’ve found yourself dedicated to a household chore you despised as a teenager.
Even if we don’t intend to take on the traits of others, it can happen merely by consistent exposure. What will others glean from their time with you?
