Six Christians were killed in Nigeria when a driver intentionally recently veered his 18-wheeler truck into a procession of people.
This was one of several Easter-related incidents of persecution against Christians that Christian Daily International-Morning Star News recently reported.

In the April 21 ramming incident in Billiri in Nigeria’s Gombe state, more than 30 Christians were injured, requiring hospitalization.
Deliberate action
According to the news outlet, “Police initially attempted to attribute the incident to brake failure, but a committee formed by Gombe state officials concluded that the driver deliberately plowed into the procession.”
Two of Billiri’s leaders told the news outlet that the Muslim driver “saw the crowd of Christians ahead of him, … increased his speed and ran into the group.”

The news outlet also reported the following incidents in Indonesia:
- In Tukang Kajang in Banten province, regional authorities sealed Thessalonica Ecumenical Christian Communion Prayer House on April 19, and congregants were prohibited from observing Easter. Sources said lack of permit was given as the reason for closure even though attempts have been made to file a permit since 2023.
- In Sukamiskin village in West Java province, Muslim radicals of Arcamanik Diversity in Unity Citizens Communication Forum blared music to disrupt the Maundy Thursday Mass of St. Odilia Parish Church, sources said.
