Charles Godwin, a longtime Alabama Baptist pastor and associational director of missions, died May 9. He was 94.
A native of Clanton, Godwin earned a bachelor’s degree at Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and a master of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Over his years of ministry, he served as pastor of churches in Notasulga, Muscle Shoals, Huntsville and Cullman. He also served churches in Kentucky and Ohio and as DOM for West Cullman Baptist Association.
Godwin is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Sue; sons, Mark and Scott; daughter, Tara; and one grandson.
