Donald Lamar Vaughn of Fort Payne died July 7, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 78.
He served 50 years in ministry, pastoring churches in Cherokee and DeKalb counties. He was an associational leader in the Lookout Mountain Baptist Association, having served four terms as moderator. At the time of his passing, Vaughn had just passed his 10th year as pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Collinsville.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Linda, and is survived by two daughters and two grandsons.
