A Ugandan man who only months ago put faith in Jesus was slain after being lured from his home with a promise of work.
Morning Star News identified the man as 38-year-old Mohammed Nagi of Nyanza South village in Uganda’s Mugiti subcounty. He was a father of five children who range in age from 4 to 15.

Nagi’s wife, Katooko Nusula, said they put their faith in Jesus on March 2 upon hearing about Christ Jesus from a pastor from Mbale who was visiting their village.
In July, some Muslim relatives questioned Nagi about his conversion from Islam, even telling him that he “deserved to be killed,” his wife told the news outlet.
On the evening of Aug. 19, a friend phoned Nagi about an offer for work, saying they must meet that night to discuss the details.
The next morning, a neighbor found Nagi dead in Kamonkoli village, Nagi’s wife said.
According to the news outlet, Kwebiiha Sarapio of the Budaka police station said Nagi was found dead with injuries to the head and had apparently been dragged on a road some 20 meters.
Police are searching for the friend who called about the work offer.
Ongoing threats of violence
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim. Uganda’s constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another. However, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence, and some Christian converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, the World Atlas reports.
