Horeb Baptist Church, Whatley, celebrated its bicentennial anniversary Sept. 14. Special music for the service was provided by Lauren Robinson, Carol Baugh, Peggy Gates, Jean Ricketts and Tonya Baugh. Pastor Warren Shewmake brought the message. The church received a commemorative plaque from Susan Walker, a commissioner for the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, with Shewmake accepting on behalf of the church. A fellowship lunch was served, followed by music featuring Glory Road.
