Camp Ground Baptist Church, Ozark, celebrated its 175th anniversary Sept. 28. Al Sonanstine, a former pastor, was the guest preacher, and Chris Woodall, another former pastor, led in prayer and recounted the history of the church. Former music minister Johnny Anderson led the congregation in singing several hymns, and Jennifer Henry led in contemporary songs. Annie Myrl Dansby, age 97, was recognized as the oldest member. The church received a resolution from Gov. Kay Ivey and a commemorative plaque from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented by commissioner Jane Hughes, with pastor Merrell Henry and the 175th Committee accepting the plaque. Photos and other historical memorabilia were on display including a 1957 Chevy and a 1928 Ford Roadster parked in front of the church.
