Tharptown Baptist Church, Russellville, celebrated its 150th anniversary March 1. The church was honored with two presentations made by Alabama State Rep. Jamie Kiel, who is also a church member, and Jimmy Austin, with the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission. Pastor Chip Martin accepted the framed resolution and plaque on behalf of the congregation.
