Shades Crest Baptist calls Ratcliff as new pastor

Shades Crest Baptist Church in Hoover called Dustin Ratcliff as its new pastor May 17.

Ratcliff has been serving since 2016 as a staff pastor for Iron City Church in Birmingham. In that role, he has overseen community groups, college ministry and the residency program. He also provides pastoral care and preaches throughout the year.

Before that, Ratcliff helped plant Portico Church in Monroe, Louisiana, from 2009 to 2014 while also serving with a campus ministry. He moved to Birmingham in 2014 for seminary and became a member of ICC before joining its staff.

He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he studied communication theory and history. He also has a master of divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University.

Ratcliff and his wife, Tara, have two children, Daisy and Judah.
