First Baptist Church Elba celebrated staff appreciation April 19, honoring Judith Tucker, the church pianist, and Ella Kate Ham, the organist, for their faithfulness and ministry for more than 50 years each. Tucker joined FBC and began serving as pianist in 1968. She also maintains the music library and serves as the church treasurer. Ham grew up at FBC and became a member in the sixth grade when she accepted Christ. After graduating from college, she came back to FBC. In 1974, Ham began playing the piano for the youth choir in addition to serving as the church organist. She is active in WMU and continues to play for the children’s programs. Tucker and Ham are retired school teachers. The church held a reception for them following the service. Kit Johnson is pastor.
