The Covenant Scholars Foundation, Inc. has announced its official launch as an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to faith-based higher education through a responsible, mission-driven student loan program.
The Foundation also announced that its first loans are available immediately for students attending an eligible institution during the Fall 2026 semester, providing timely access to funding for the upcoming academic year.
“Founded to serve students and families seeking high-quality, values-driven education,” the Foundation said in a news release, “CSF provides innovative financing solutions designed to reduce financial barriers while promoting long-term stewardship and student success.”
CSF’s loan funding is structured with competitive rates, transparent terms and strong stewardship. For more information, go to covenantscholars.org.
New model for student financing
“At a time when many students face increasing financial pressure and uncertainty, CSF introduces a model that aligns financial support with institutional mission,” the Foundation said. “The Foundation’s structure emphasizes access, sustainability, stewardship and partnership with institutions committed to student success and integrity.”
The Foundation noted its program seeks to deliver lower interest rates and more favorable borrower terms than GradPLUS, ParentPLUS and many traditional private loan options. This advantage, it noted, is driven in part by the historically strong repayment performance and low default rates among graduates of participating institutions, enabling a more efficient and mission-aligned pricing structure.
“Students have many loan options and should explore all of them. Covenant Scholars Foundation represents an important and timely innovation in expanding access to a transformational educational experience,” said Beck A. Taylor, president of Samford University, whose students will be able to benefit from the program made available by CSF.
Scalable vision
CSF is established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, governed by an independent board of directors, and structured to serve multiple institutions over time. While Samford University students will have an opportunity right away to take advantage of CSF’s program, the Foundation is designed for future expansion to students attending other mission-aligned colleges and universities.
Infrastructure
CSF has engaged experienced financial and operational partners to support the program’s launch and long-term success. RBC Capital Markets, LLC is serving as financial advisor to the Foundation, providing investment banking services in connection with program structuring, capital strategy, and long-term scalability.
The Foundation also partners with Aspire Resources, Inc. for loan origination, servicing and administration, ensuring borrowers benefit from professional infrastructure, regulatory compliance and clear communication throughout the life of the loan.
