A young pastor was killed in Uganda after speaking on radio, and in a debate during which two women put faith in Jesus Christ, sources reported.
Morning Star News said 25-year-old Bernard Mulongo was killed July 18 in Jami village near Mbale, Uganda. The pastor of New Restoration Church of Christ, Mulongo was married with two young children.

David Omala, another pastor present at the debate, told Morning Star that Hassan Musa, an imam, is among the suspects in Mulongo’s death. Musa had told Mulongo that he deserved death for encouraging people to convert to Christianity.
Omala said Musa was angry because two noted Muslim women had made professions of faith in Jesus during the debate.
Mulongo was attacked on his way to his lodging, and Omala and Mulongo’s father discovered his body.
As of July 24, no arrests had been made.
Threats increasing
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim, and though its constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence. Some Christian converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, World Atlas reported.
