After spending 11 years as a missionary in the Philippines, Kevin Sanders returned to the United States and now is a pastor. From his ministry experience Sanders has written a helpful and concise book, “Knowing God’s Will: Discovering His Plan for Your Life.”
Sanders has degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Gateway Seminary, and his book is easy to understand as he discusses key questions to consider when seeking God’s will.

Beginning with the essential issue of knowing Christ as Savior Sanders writes: “You can only know God’s voice if you belong to Him,” and he explains how to be saved, indicating it is necessary to following God.
‘Crucial questions’
Sanders addresses seven “crucial questions” to discovering God’s will: 1) What is God saying through His Word? 2) What is God saying through His still small voice? 3) What is God saying through wise counsel? 4) What is God saying through circumstances? 5) What is God saying through practical wisdom? 6) What is God saying through redeemed desires? 7) What is God saying through my gifts and talents?
He also is insightful in helping believers consider the influence of trials and suffering as we seek to follow God’s will, as well as dealing with temptations and regrets. “God is more than willing to meet you right where you are and take you to places you could never reach on your own.”
Sanders also addresses “joyful blessings,” and the specific issue of marriage and singleness. This book is great for newer and older believers, Bible study groups or Sunday school classes.
