Smyrna Baptist in Flora celebrates centennial anniversary

Smyrna Baptist Church, Flora, celebrated its 100th anniversary June 7. Member Cole Dunn recounted the church history along with a slide presentation. He also read a proclamation from Alabama Sen. Josh Carnley. Written congratulations also came from Gov. Kay Ivey and President Donald Trump. Pastor Chad Johnson accepted a commemorative plaque from Jim Lambert, a commissioner with the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission. Made for More, a quintet from another church, sang during the service and also shared a concert in the afternoon following the meal.
