A Christian relief worker, whom rebel militants in Sudan abducted five months ago, is believed to still be their captive.
Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North rebels kidnapped Najwa Musa Konda on April 1 in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains after intercepting her vehicle as she traveled toward South Sudan. Morning Star News reports that Konda — an Episcopal Church of Sudan member — is an aid worker with Nuba Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Organization.

A relative said captors have not allowed family members or legal representatives any access to her.
Morning Star states she was still captive as of Aug. 24.
Earlier in August, Konda’ sister — Zaki Musa Konda — and three other Samaritan’s Purse workers were also kidnapped by SPLA-N. The four were released two days later, sources said.
‘New frontline’
Morning Star describes the Nuba Mountains as “a new frontline” that has come into play since “SPLA-N joined forces with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces against the Sudanese Armed Forces. … Both the RSF and the SAF are Islamist forces that have attacked displaced Christians.”
