Eagle Creek Baptist in Dadeville celebrates 175th anniversary

Eagle Creek Baptist Church, Dadeville, celebrated its 175th anniversary Aug. 9. Former pastor Taylor Gurley was the guest preacher. A printed history of the church was included in the church bulletins, and church historian Danny Lloyd along with two members shared highlights and memories. Longtime musicians Vicky Patterson (pianist) and Debbie Brewer (organist) were recognized for their ministry. They each have served the church almost 60 years. June Mathews, a commissioner with the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented the church with a special plaque. Pastor Wesley Price accepted the honor. A meal was served following the service. The anniversary also kicked off a four-day revival.
