Wiley Donnell “Donnie” Dunn, longtime pastor of Banks Baptist Church and leader of Bethel Baptist, died Oct. 24. He was 78.

Dunn served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard for more than 30 years, earning two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He’s a retired mail carrier who served the U.S. Postal Service for 12 years. He led Banks Baptist Church for 20 years and was pastor of Bethel Baptist Church when he died. He was director of the Bible Reading Marathon held annually in Troy.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda Brady Dunn; three children: Heather Dunn, Erica Garrott and Brady Dunn; and five grandchildren.
