Counting on support

M-POWER Ministries is very excited for our own Grace McGraw to be featured during this year’s Week of Prayer for North American Missions. Grace has been prominently featured through North American Mission Board (NAMB) publications, as well as Missions Mosaic and The Alabama Baptist. In addition, she has spoken at many missions conferences and churches through Alabama and the Southeast.

M-POWER Ministries is very excited for Grace and the attention given to her work with the children and families of our neighborhoods. Likewise, we are grateful for the financial support M-POWER receives from NAMB through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

However, as reported in this publication Feb. 21, 2002, very few North American missionaries are fully funded through NAMB. The vast majority of our missionaries, including Grace, receive only partial funding. NAMB provides 15.1 percent of Grace’s salary. Local agencies are responsible for the rest of the necessary funding.

In actuality, M-POWER receives less than 1 percent of our total operating budget from NAMB, including insurance and retirement. We are dependent on local support to keep our doors open and to continue not only Grace’s work, but our literacy ministry, free medical clinic and other vital ministries.

During this time of prayer and giving for North American missions, do support NAMB and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, but please do not forget Grace and M-POWER or the other North American missionaries and sponsoring agencies in Alabama. Your faithful prayers and financial gifts outside of Annie Armstrong are our lifeline. Grace and the rest of the NAMB missionaries are counting on your support.
