Wasting Resources

Wasting Resources

I am not the most educated person. I graduated from high school, went to college, did not graduate, but completed a number of courses. I retired from the United States Air Force in 1982 (23 years service) and completed many technical schools and noncommissioned academy during those years. I surrendered to preach in 1981, ordained in 1982 and I did graduate from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in 1984 with an associate of divinity.

During the years before surrendering to preach, as God opened the doors of ministry I walked through. I became a Southern Baptist in 1958 when I married. According to God’s Word, disciples are to be faithful.

Now, at age 68, my resumé is circulating around central Alabama and my telephone does not ring anymore. Yes, I can stand on two feet, and yes, I can teach the Bible and I do, but being asked to pulpit supply or interim, no. It is a shame the way we Southern Baptists waste Cooperative Program dollars as that is what educated me.
