This is in regard to the article “Purpose-driven church” by Rick Warren. This is what is wrong with our Baptist churches today: there are already too many gimmicks being used to get the lost saved. We are worried about growth more than salvation. We need to present the gospel, not only that Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day but also how He died, how he was buried and how He was raised. He is now on the right hand of the Father in heaven interceding for us who have believed in Him according to the work of His mighty power.
We need to remove all the gimmicks — altars, moaners benches, decisions and anything else manmade. We must present the only name given in heaven and on earth whereby we must be saved. That name is “Jesus.”
