Volunteers needed

Have a heart for missions? Feel a tug to share the gospel overseas? West Africa needs you.

Twenty-two percent of the more than 1,600 people groups in West Africa have not been reached for Christ, according to International Mission Board (IMB) figures. And the IMB is looking for volunteers to make sure no group is left out.

One way to accomplish that task is to share about missions efforts in the region through a West Africa Summit April 2–4. The summit — Lift Up Your Eyes — will be held at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C.

Along with highlighting missions efforts, the event will identify some of the more pressing problems missionaries are facing. It will also explore the different ways Baptists in the United States can get involved through prayer groups, missions partnerships and vision trips.

Speakers will include Frank Page, Southern Baptist Convention president; Tom Elliff, the IMB’s senior vice president for spiritual nurture and church relations; Phil Jones, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Powell, Tenn.; and Ken Forrester, senior pastor of Rocky Creek.

A student summit will be held April 4–5. For more information, visit www.rockycreekonline.org or call 864-288-1323. (TAB)
