I just want to say thank you for the article in the Aug. 23 edition featuring James Burkhart in “Centre Baptist saves lives by giving nearly 23 gallons of blood over 40-year period.” I have come to realize the importance of blood donors during the last six months. I have to take blood transfusions, and I am so thankful for those who donate. My husband was a donor until he had cancer and had to stop.
The blood donor program could be one of the ministries of our churches. I am a member of First Baptist Church, Citronelle, and plan to bring this matter to our pastor’s attention as a possible ministry of our church.
