Da’ T.R.U.T.H., aka Emanuel Lambert Jr., a star of the Cross Movement Records roster, has crafted a hip-hop gem with “Open Book.”
A concept album of sorts, the 17 songs — listed as “chapters” — serve not only as a stage for Da’ T.R.U.T.H.’s obvious talent but also for his personal testimony — My life’s an open book! Corresponding Bible verses are listed under each title in the liner notes.
The CD comes enhanced with bonus features and manifests a sample-heavy flow similar at times to Jay-Z and even Kanye West. Recommended.
