The North American Mission Board recently appointed a couple to serve as missionaries in Mobile.
Douglas “Doug” Beck and his wife, Sonnie, will work as church planters.
Prior to his appointment, Doug Beck worked for United Parcel Service in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as serving nine years with the International Mission Board.
A native Texan, he earned a bachelor’s degree in religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and master of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Sonnie Beck earned a bachelor’s degree in education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The Becks have four children, Kaleb, 11; Joshua, 9; Mikal, 5; and Ashlyn, 3. (NAMB)
