Judson College has awarded Cera Jernigan of Fairhope the third annual Mary Whitfield Lee Scholarship for the current academic year.
Jernigan is a graduate of Fairhope High School, where she was a member of the marching band, National Honor Society and Spanish Club. She is an elementary education major at Judson.
Lee was an outstanding Judson student and athlete who died after a car accident on her way to a softball tournament with Judson in 1976. The scholarship named for her is given annually to worthy and needy students of good character with a 3.0 or better GPA.
