Litton, Tammy Hull

Tammy Hull Litton, wife of Ed Litton, pastor of First Baptist Church, North Mobile, in Saraland, died Aug. 16 after crashing into the back of a stalled 18-wheeler in Mississippi. She was 47.

Litton’s 13-year-old daughter, Kayla, was also in the vehicle and suffered injuries but was treated and released.

"Pastor Litton is, of course, heartbroken over the loss of his wife and thrilled that his daughter is fine," said Thomas Wright, director of missions for Mobile Baptist Association, according to the Mobile Press-Register. "He is relying on his faith and his friends to help him through this."

Litton — a professional oboe player — was active in many areas of the church but had a special passion for music, according to church members.

She had recently been working to start a music school that was set to launch Aug. 20 at the church.

Litton is survived by her husband, daughter and two sons, Joshua and Tyler. (TAB)
