Cooperative Program takes hit in April giving

NASHVILLE — Year-to-date contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) are 0.30 percent behind the same time frame in April 2007, according to SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman. As of April 30, the year-to-date total of $120,278,510.87 for CP missions is $360,255.19 behind the $120,638,766.06 received at the same point in 2007.

For the month, receipts of $15,765,017.87 were 15.07 percent, or $2,797,103.07, behind the $18,562,120.94 received in April 2007.

For the SBC CP Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $120,278,510.87 is 102.79 percent of the $117,017,562.84 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
