The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation of Atlanta announced Jan. 31 a grant of $74,000 to Judson. This is the 30th year Judson has received a grant from the foundation.
The grant will provide scholarships for students in the upcoming 2007–2008 academic year.
Whitehead’s husband, attorney Joseph Brown Whitehead, founded the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Atlanta in 1899.
The foundation was chartered in 1946 by the Whiteheads’ son as a memorial to his mother and to provide aid to needy Christian women in nine Southern states.
