Thanks for CP giving

Thanks for CP giving

I want to say “Amen!” to Bob Terry’s commentary in the Feb. 22 edition of The Alabama Baptist regarding the importance of the Cooperative Program (CP) of the Southern Baptist Convention. Because of your support for the CP, Glenda and I were able to serve our Lord as your missionaries in the Philippines for over 31 years. We feel you were our genuine partners in missions because you gave to your church — which gave to the CP — you gave to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and you prayed. Thank you very much for your personal support of our ministries.

By the way, we believe Southern Baptist churches have the best missions program. No other denomination/group has anything that comes close to comparing to the CP. I was saved, baptized and called to the ministry in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Carrollton, in Pickens Baptist Association. Most would call it a small church. There is no way they could have sent us overseas, but wait, they did through their giving to the CP. I like the CP because it allows churches of all sizes to have a very valid part in missions (home and abroad) and winning this world to faith in Jesus.

Again thank you for allowing us to serve as your missionaries.
