Cooperative Program gifts continue to rise

NASHVILLE — January receipts and budget year-to-date gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) were up compared to the same periods a year ago, according to Morris H. Chapman, president and chief executive officer of the SBC Executive Committee.

For January 2000, the SBC CP gifts totaled $16,518,423 compared to January 1999 of $16,269,698, an increase of $248,725 or 2 percent. For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget for 1999-2000, the year-to-date receipts total $59,044,455 for the first four months of the SBC budget year, Oct. 1 through Sept. 30 compared to $56,233,784 for the same period a year ago, a $2,810671 increase or 5 percent.
