Several Alabama Baptists were tapped to serve on a committee or board during the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) annual meeting in Indianapolis June 10–11.

– Mary Sue Bennett, a member of Mount Hebron East Baptist Church, Eclectic, and James P. Henderson, First Baptist Church, Oneonta — Committee on Nominations.

– Mitchell E. Gavin, a member of First Baptist Church, Alexander City — Executive Committee, second term.

– Robert E. Jackson, pastor of Central Baptist Church, Decatur, and G. Lance Hogan, pastor of First Baptist Church, Enterprise — International Mission Board, expiring 2012.

– Charles C. “Craig” Carlisle, pastor of Twelfth Street Baptist Church, Gadsden — LifeWay Christian Resources, expiring 2012.

– John C. Thweatt, pastor of First Baptist Church, Pell City — Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, expiring 2013.
