Michael and Stormie Omartian have created an exciting musical presentation that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. “Child of the Promise” captures the essence of the Christmas story by portraying different Bible characters who were in some way involved in the Christmas narrative

The story begins in the time of the prophets and moves though the birth of Christ. The voices of these characters were provided by some of today’s most well known artists. Steven Curtis Chapman and Crystal Lewis respectively represent Joseph and Mary. Other artists involved in the project include Michael W. Smith, Russ Taff, Amy Grant, Richard Marx and Wayne Watson.

Musically, the album is much different from what you might expect from these contemporary artists. Each song expresses the feelings of the characters through the lyrics as well as the music. Michael Omartian carefully orchestrated the entire work to reveal the mystery that surrounded the events surrounding the birth of Christ.

“Child of the Promise” is a thoughtfully assembled presentation that reveals the great acts of God that brought salvation to the world through Jesus Christ. It is this event that we celebrate each Christmas. “Child of the Promise” gives the listener the opportunity to relive that event in a way similar to those present at the birth.
