Thank you for your editorial on the subject of soul competency. I appreciated your remarks. Unfortunately, with the topic of “women pastors” grabbing the limelight and headlines, tremendously important parts of our Baptist heritage are in danger of being lost. I’m not sure what grieves me most — that our SBC leadership is trying to revise our history to fit their vision, or that Baptists don’t seem to know the difference.
