NAMB appoints four Alabama natives, another couple working in state

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) recently appointed four missionaries with Alabama ties to serve in Pennsylvania and Georgia and another couple to plant churches in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama-natives Jason T. and Geneviave “Genée” Duckett will serve in DuBois, Pa., where he has been named a church-­planting missionary pastor.

Jason Duckett most recently served as associate pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Birmingham, in Birmingham Baptist Association. He also served as interim youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, in Tuscaloosa Baptist Association.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alabama and master of divinity degree in religion from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Genée Duckett most recently worked as office assistant at The Alabama Baptist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Huntingdon College in Montgomery and worked with HealthSouth in Birmingham.

Stephen “Steve” and Susan Eddleman are serving in Alpharetta, Ga., where he has been named a national mobilization missionary for NAMB. Prior to his new post, Steve Eddleman served as logistic specialist on the volunteer mobilization team at NAMB.

In his new role, he will be involved with disaster relief and student mobilization programs such as World Changers. He will be out in the field most of the time, organizing disaster relief and handling logistics, among other duties.

Both of the Eddlemans are from Fairview and attended John C. Calhoun State Community College in Decatur. Susan Eddleman also attended George C. Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. The couple has three children, Carrie Byrd, 25; Jake, 24; and Will, 21.

Galen and Cathy Jones are serving in Tuscaloosa, where he will work as a church-planting missionary. Before his appointment, he served as a youth counselor for Maryhurst Inc. in Louisville, Ky.

A native of Missouri, Galen Jones earned a bachelor of theology degree in religion from Beacon University in Columbus, Ga., and master’s degree in education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

Cathy Jones, a Kentucky native, attended the University of Cincinnati and received a nursing degree from the Cincinnati School of Nursing.  (NAMB, TAB)
