In a day of theological uncertainty, my heart was refreshed to read the clear and forthright editorial in the Dec. 7 edition of The Alabama Baptist concerning the authority of Scripture.
This excellent message sets forth the historic Baptist position that Scripture alone is the basis of our beliefs, our practices and our attitudes. As you boldly stated “this is where Baptists have camped for centuries.”
Loyalty to the Bible as God’s Word defines who we are as Southern Baptists.
In a day when, according to George Barna, 73 percent of adults in mainline Protestant churches reject the concept of absolute truth, your well-placed words are an encouragement to Baptists to maintain our allegiance to Scripture as God’s certain truth.
