I read with interest the two Letters to the Editor in the Jan. 4 edition. Both referenced an editorial you wrote concerning the authority of Scripture. I add my agreement to the two writers, which were published.
Upon further scanning of the paper, I saw in the Across Alabama’s Associations section that the Baptist Church of the Covenant in Birmingham has a female interim pastor.
What’s wrong with this picture? If Scripture is our authority and Scripture forbids women to serve in the role of pastor (specifically, to be the husband of one wife), why publish something unscriptural going on in our churches in a section, I would think, which is intended to tell the positive things churches are doing?
