The University of Mobile Center for Performing Arts will present Vocal Gems, an evening of art songs, operatic arias and ensembles, Oct. 3. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Moorer Auditorium in Thomas T. Martin Hall on the university campus.
The program will include compositions by Bizet, Donizetti, Handel, Mendelssohn, Menotti and Mozart. Eight members of the university’s voice faculty will be accompanied by two piano faculty members.
Guest artist will be Andra Bohnet, principal flutist with the Mobile Symphony and professor of music at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
