I read with much interest the article by Jeremy Dale Henderson on page 7 of the July 17 edition of The Alabama Baptist concerning the 1997 construction accident at Freedom Baptist Church in Ranburne. I was interested because I was a member of a volunteer crew from Kolola Springs Baptist Church in Caledonia, Miss., who went to Ranburne a short time after that accident and reinstalled the roof trusses that had fallen that day.
I have a vivid mental picture of that bloodstained floor that was described in the article. I had a good view of it as I worked directly above it for two days installing those trusses. Man, did I ever do some serious praying on that trip.
God heard our prayers that week and allowed us to safely finish decking the roof.
I will never forget how grateful the people from that church were or the great prayer meeting we had that Wednesday night as we prayed that those who had been injured would make a full recovery.
It may have taken 11 years, but it seems that God has answered that prayer, too.
