Free From Ordinary
Slanted Records
Spring Hill’s pop/rock imprint has done quite well in snagging Caleb Rowden, primary songwriter for the popular and now defunct Missouri-area band Wisdom’s Cry. The 23 year old bears a striking resemblance to Steven Curtis Chapman but plays an infectious, electronically iced style that is hard to resist. His debut on Slanted Records is a mix of Coldplay, Switchfoot and windows-down worship. The first 10 seconds hook you deep down. The rest of it reels you in.
If you’re ready to become a fan of some new music, Rowden’s first solo project is where it’s at. “Free From Ordinary” is the sort of stuff that can make time spent in youth groups special.
